  1. To be accurate, Olympus is not open source: its just labeld "Open" which is basically meaningless IMHO.  That said, both Sony and Olympus have decided to basically embed a web server in their cameras that can handle requests over HTTP.  All these laggy apps running on your phones are making direct WiFi connectiosn and sending standard web requests based on API published by both manufacturers.

To be fair, Sony has published their API over 2 years ago and is supported by almost 30 Sony cameras – basically every single camera they made in the past two years.  Any app written for one Sony device, can more or less (see link below for feature matrix in first link) work on any other Sony camera.  This is quite astonishing.

The Olympus Air 01 API, according to their site, ONLY works on the Air 01 (see "Supported Camera" section in third link).  Sad.

Ideally, each manufacture publishes the spec to communicate via USB connection but thats not going to happen without heavy NDAs if at all.

  2. thanks for the time and effort you put into the show, appreciated.

  3. I like the editing speak . . . probably because I relate . . . . yea that R and C change gets me a lot as well.

  4. Yea I don't watch this live. . . but if I did, I'd be trying to come up with questions just to trip ya'll up

I'm curious on how you decide what to talk about in the show.  Like you have spoke about the palette mixer before.   Like you feel like it needs more discussion with another host?   Still has my attention so it isn't boring.  Just curious on how you decide repeat topics.

  5. Please post time stamps for the topics discussed

  6. Also this might be a totally noon question to ask but when we are watching live how do we ask question if watching on YouTube or is it only when watching through Google Hangouts. And last thing what time do you do recordings time and dates Pacific Standard Time please . thanks.

  7. +onelonedork I posted the question a couple of episodes ago about sending you questions and my follow up question is… Is there a email we can email for longer questions. For example giving you all the context of a situations or what type of film maker we are so that you can give us the best answer. Thanks and love the show keep up the great work.

  8. What's going on with the resolution on your webcam? Mitch and Devin's cams are clear and yours has been grainy lately, it's hard to look at sometimes.

  9. The Polaroid cube is why the gopro session exists in my opinion, http://www.polaroid.com/cube

  10. Not trying to be an ass but the Pani gx8 will be a successor to the gx7 and the gx7 is not a point and shoot… Its more like a rangefinder with interchangeable  lenses and is usually priced between $900-$700…the lx series is the point and shoot…
