  1. My personal view is that the 5d is better for stills and the GH4 great for video. I have had a Panasonic camera & wasn't really impressed with range of lenses.

  2. how does the metabones speedbooster for canon EF lenses change things? that seems to solve all the problems with DOF and image quality issues by using canon L glass. The new speedbooster will support aperture and audio focus, etc.

  4. Lol, sorry for saying this.
But dude. Its no where b+.
I own both, and the GH4 is a great camera, for video. But for stills it is absolutely horrible…
You can better buy a second hands t5i for 200 bucks for stills. :-)

  5. this was a very well made video. also very informative! thank you!

  6. Good job with a lot of information. Thanks.

Michael, congratulations for your video. It's very explanatory. Your are doing a very good job. Thank you.

  8. Mike I finally bought my GH4, now I am thinking of selling my 5dmk3 – thoughts?

  9. Thanks. I have owned the GH4 (with 14-140 lens and 100-300 lens) since it came out and my four grand Canon 1DMkII and the 16-35L, 24-70L, 70-200L lenses are now gathering dust at home since then. It's great camera. Have you done video explaining what this new 4K photo mode is/does? I haven't used it yet but i'm a bit sick of constantly rotating the dial on top of camera from my custom C1 setting for 4K recording back to the P program mode to take pictures all the time.

  10. I like the GH4 due to the video capacity, now I'm considering D750 over the GH4 because i want to balance still image and video if I'm to use one camera
please what can you say about this two camera when shooting good quality image and yet can perform very well in video.
    thanks

  11. Great Review! For portrait photographs what's an good fast 50mm lens for the GH4 + metabones XL?

  12. What photo mode do you use for stills

  13. Thanks for the video, I found it to be very helpful.  Are you planning on doing a review of the new Lumix G7?  I've purchased one and would love to hear your opinions on the 4k photo modes.  There's reported problems with autofocus in Preburst mode but I mainly use Burst S/S (Burst start/stop).  So far I've been able to catch my grandkids with actual pretty smiles on their faces, with at least a few frames in focus.  Any other tips would be helpful because I get a lot of blurry frames.   Thank you!

  14. What about zoom and macro stills?

  15. Thanks for this video!

Thats not how you test DR!! Canon usable DR is absolute crap compared to Nikon, and noticably lower than GH3/4.

  17. Mirrorless is on the rise, the Samsung NX1 proves that mirrior can stack up against DSLR's. I'd say its better for both stills and video. But no one cares because it's Samsung. So the next generation of mirrorless cameras, the GH5, Sony A7000, Olympus em1 Mark II, Fuji x-t1 mark ii, will be able to go toe to toe with their DSLR counterparts.

excellent comparison! thanks for the great video!

  19. first time I've heard anyone mention the moving object focus issues and the reduced frame rate in continuous focus, thanks for the info , invaluable info when deciding on which camera to buy .

  20. What lenses would you recommended for the gh4?
