  1. Hi Garuda Corona,
    Thank you for your interest.  The EOS 5DS and the EOS 5DS-R are basically identical cameras.  The EOS 5DS-R is equipped with the low-pass filter (LPF) effect cancellation.   While a low-pass filter is useful to reduce color artifacts and moiré typical with digital capture, it also reduces detail at the pixel level.  With the LPF disabled, the EOS 5DS R takes full advantage of the original resolving power of the camera's 50.6 Megapixel sensor.  More detail is captured and retained in the original image, perfect for landscape and commercial applications where pixel-level detail is scrutinized and when the sharpest possible image is needed.  We hope this is helpful.

  9. SLR are old technology. last time camera were range finder and the view is not accurate. So the SLR were born. Now came the mirror less. which is the most advance. Those who go to SLR because their already have many lens. with mirror less you see the effect before pressing the shutter. Don't it look silly to have a mirror
    flipping up and down in your camera, thus creating mirror bounce noise. You have to replace the cushion of the mirror every few years. The mirror may sometime get stuck.

  10. 50 mega pixels, this is insane. I want it.

  11. Almost $4000…. Better hope this fishing season will be good so i could get my hands on one of them.

  12. Canon didn't learn from the mistake of Nikon DF.

    * Beginners and amateurs want to shoot videos as well as stills.
    * No built in wireless radio ETTL flash transmitter.
    * Using outdated PC Sync Socket.
    * No touch screen LCD.
    * No 3.5mm Sync Port.
    * No 4K video recording that beginners/amateurs love.
    * No tilt LCD screen.
    * Still the dreaded ERR99 after 1.7 years.
    * No output mike & hdmi (input/output).
    * Low light shooting for cheapskate shooters that can't afford the overpriced two 600EX-RT.
    * Only doing outdated 1080p while the cheap Panasonic DMC-FZ1000 can do 4K cines.
    * If you haven't upgraded to a new computer, just stick with 5D/2/3.
    * If you can't make $5,000+/wedding, just buy those cheap reduction cameras or use your Ipad.

    You don't have to upgrade your body just because companies come out with new models.
    Take some classes from real photographers.
    If you really want to buy, the buy good optics/flash/tripod.

  13. Drooling!

  14. The 5D SR sounds like what I am looking for to add the maximum detail to my art.

  16. they have moved to a new mirror mechanism for more sharpness, especially when shooting handheld. which nikon had since the nikon d7000

  17. Ray Floyd Cabrera

    i bought 5d3 2 days ago even if i knew 5ds is coming

  18. The 5DS has an image sensor that is able to produce an 8K frame.  Were Canon to add this output format as a feature (possibly through a tether to a separate recorder), I'm sure that it would become an instant hit with cinematographers that need to use this format.  Maybe Canon has other plans about 8K, but this seems like a missed opportunity.

  19. I just got a t5i. Now I feel like I need one of these!
